Meet our executives
Brent TurnerChief Executive Officer
Mr. Turner has served as a consultant to the Company since September 2018. In addition, since September 2018, Mr. Turner has served as Founder and CEO of Motus Advisors, a financial services consulting company. Prior to founding Motus Advisors, Mr. Turner served as Executive Vice President, Head of Consumer Lending and Tax for MetaBank (CASH:NASDAQ), a federally chartered savings bank, since December 2016. Prior to joining MetaBank, Mr. Turner served as Founder and CEO of Specialty Consumer Services LP (“SCS”), a provider of technology, underwriting and consulting services to national tax return preparation companies, substantially all of the assets of which were acquired by MetaBank and its holding company, Meta Financial Group, Inc., in November 2016. Prior to founding SCS, LP, Mr. Turner severed as President of eCommerce for EZCORP (EZPW:NASDAQ). Mr. Turner holds a Bachelor of Arts in Finance from West Texas A&M University and a Master of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business.
Michael PiperChief Financial Officer
Since January 2018 and prior to rejoining the Company, Mr. Piper served as Chief Financial Officer of CDYNE Corporation, a web service solution provider and as a Consultant from October 2017 through December 2017. Mr. Piper previously served as the Company’s Vice President of Financial Products from December 2014 to September 2017. In addition, from August 2004 to December 2014, Mr. Piper served the Company in other roles including Director of Finance and Director of Financial Products. Prior to initially joining the Company and from July 2002 to August 2004, Mr. Piper served as Associate Vice President of Finance for Amerigroup Corporation.
Ted DeMarinoPresident of Tax
Ted DeMarino, President of Tax, joined Liberty tax in September 2019. Ted has spent the majority of his career working with Rent A Center and has extensive executive-level experience leading high-performing organizations. Ted has developed and led a global shared services organization of more than 900 people, which supported revenues of over $3 billion with operations in 3 countries, 4,500 locations, and 22,000 coworkers worldwide. Most of Ted’s career has been focused on driving operational excellence. As the Executive Vice President of Operations, Ted played a key role in growing Rent-A-Center from 100 locations when he joined, to over 4,500 worldwide, with direct responsibility for store operations. Ted has also led the operations teams at Title Max as their COO and Flexi Compras as their President and COO.
